Parish Groups

LIFE Groups exist to help members of the Anglican Parish of Alstonville to Live in Faith Everyday’.  LIFE Groups are centred on Bible study, relationships and prayer. We recognise that the most effective way of enabling any individual member of the church to grow in spiritual maturity, experience the community of God’s family and receive and give pastoral care is in small growth groups. We hope that each LIFE Group member will experience Jesus through community and to make each church member’s place in the body of Christ a living and practical reality. Our hope is that all members of our church belong to or are linked to a life group. We aim to equip members to be able to clearly explain and understand the Gospel of Christ and learn to apply the Gospel to all aspects of their lives. LIFE Groups are composed of around 8-10 people, and meet in homes or at the church centre. Studies either follow the sermon series or study programs. Groups generally meet weekly during school terms. All groups are led by trained lay-leaders from the congregation who receive continual oversight and support from the LIFE Group Coordinator.  There are currently ten groups meeting on most days or evenings.

Breakfast Fellowship Groups –Men’s and Women’s Breakfasts are held periodically during the year and offer a time of fellowship, great food.

Sew Helpful Craft Group – meet on a Monday afternoon during school term in the meeting room. Members are encouraged to bring along anything they are working on to show and tell. The Group is open to non-church members. Members also contribute craft items for sale at the annual Fete. A great social time is enjoyed by all.
